My early years in Tennis Coaching was learning the art and trade at Tennis World North Ryde and I couldn’t have worked with a more capable or authentic group of people. Learning how to coach kids in their early, mid, late developmental years is a process and it’s so important to get it right. Fun is obviously number one but their relationship with the game and the skill set it requires is also, super important. How wonderful it is to see a participant light up and laugh in a social tennis setting or similarly fire and focus in a super competitive setting. Both special, both sacred, both tennis.
After moving on from The Tennis World Group (now SSMG), I coached at Next Generation Ryde, East Courts (now Eastside) at Kingsford; Trinity Boys Grammar, Summer Hill and Ravenswood School for Girls at Gordon. All of these tennis coaching experiences were so valuable and I feel so proud and grateful to have worked with everyone. I also did two years with the Navy Indoor Sports Centre in 2012 (as Manager) when I was playing a lot of tennis and loved the experience.
My big break came in 2016 when I started coaching on the beautiful tennis courts at Hunters Hill Club and I’ve never looked back!
